Alexandra Road is a street in Whalley Range, Manchester.

Incidents

On 2nd April 2026, Greater Manchester Police's Firearms Unit and Tactical Aid Unit carried out a raid at a residential address on Alexandra Road. Police officers found several bags of cannabis at the property, as well as a loaded firearm, resulting in the arrest of a 45-year-old man.^[1]

Hours after the arrest, the man was charged with:^[2]

• Possession of a firearm without a certificate
• Possession of ammunition without a certificate

They were subsequently remanded in police custody and appeared before Tameside Magistrates' Court on 4th April 2026.^[2]
