Stretford Mall
Stretford Mall, originally called the Stretford Arndale Centre, is the main shopping centre in Stretford on Chester Road.
History
The Stretford Arndale Centre promised to be the premiere shopping centre in the region
, and was to be constructed in two or three stages. The first stage promoted how it was principally an air-conditioned centre
.[1]
The Mayor of Stretford opened the shopping centre on 23rd April 1969.[2] At the time, it ranked as the sixth-largest shopping mall in the United Kingdom.[3][4]
One of the first earliest venues in the Stretford Arndale Centre was the Coronet Restaurant.[5]
