There is plenty of free parking, thanks to a small communal parking lot between the Timperley Post Office and Co-Op Timperley Stockport Road, as well as the car park for the Larkhill Centre. There is plenty of dropped kerb for wheelchair accessibility, and the post office is on ground level.

History

A 'Timperley Post Office' is referenced in print as early as 1881,^[3] but this can't be the present-day one on Stockport Road. Maps show the present-day location as being a meadow in 1838,^[4] as part of Firtree Farm. By the 1930s, the present-day terraced buildings appear to have been constructed, but no mention yet of a post office. A map surveyed in 1964 is the earliest evidence of Timperley Post Office on the present-day location, so it must have began operation at some point between the 1930s and mid-1960s.
