Trafford

Trafford is one of the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester, situated in the south-west of the county. It consists of the towns of Altrincham, Stretford, Urmston, Partington and Sale, which are surrounded by a large number of villages and civil parishes. The borough is named after the de Trafford family, who historically owned a manor in the area.

The borough has existed since 1st April 1974. Since its creation, it has been governed by Trafford Council.
