Brooklands Road
Brooklands Road is a street in Sale, Trafford. It connects Brooklands Roundabout (where Manchester and Trafford meet) at the south, to Marsland Road (Brooklands) at the north. It's a heavy traffic road, seeing vehicles at all times of day and frequently seeing congestion during peak hours.
Notably, Brooklands Tram Stop is accessed from the north end just before the Marsland Road connection.
The road is infamous for being very long; approximately 1.35 miles (2.17 km) from end to end. It heavily features trees all the way down, meaning the line of sight is severely limited. As the road has no curves or bends, both pedestrians and drivers can only look down to the opposite end of the road, which is almost certainly beyond their eyesight.
History
Brooklands Road is known to have existed as far back as 1863.[1]
