History
Winston Conservative Club was constructed and opened at some point between 1938 and 1958.[4][5] The corporate entity, Winston Conservative Club Limited, was incorporated with Companies House on 24th January 1956.[2]
The earliest known print reference is from 1963, when world snooker runner-up Jack Rea played against amateurs at the Winston Conservative Club.[6]
On 4th November 2024, a brawl erupted at the Winston Club while it was hosting a birthday party and a funeral. The brawl resulted in numerous people being hospitalised, and the owner's daughter was also injured. The incident prompted a hearing by Manchester City Council, and the club was instructed to hire security officials when hosting events with over 60 people, to provide security training to staff, and to expand their CCTV coverage.[7]
