Strathmere Avenue

Strathmere Avenue is a cul-de-sac street in Stretford, Trafford, with a postcode designation of M32 0DR. The street is predominantly semi-detached houses, with a couple of detached houses where the road bends towards the north.

There is also a small, unnamed service road between Strathmere Avenue and the back of the commercial units on Davyhulme Road East.

History

Strathmere Avenue was constructed in the mid-1930s, along with the surrounding residential streets, as part of Stretford's 1930s housing boom. It was built next to an engineering works, which is situated to the east (on Chester Road) and is today a Latter-Day Saints church.
