History
On 7th January 1999, Wickes ran a newspaper advert to try and fill staff vacancies for the upcoming opening date. In the advert, they claimed that the upcoming shop would be “new-look”, as they would be including decorating items such as wallpapers and paints, in addition to the usual items stocked for professionals and builders.[3]
The new Wickes shop opened on 2nd April 1999,[4] being one of the original shops to open as part of the freshly constructed retail park.[5]
